This is an animation of Excursion into The Mountains, by Franz Kafka, translated by Willa and Edwin Muir. The video features a simple stop-motion effect of hand-drawn characters and scenarios. Its lofi feeling is reminiscent of imagination, making it look like all of the story is happening in the storyteller’s head. You also get that idea from the quick scene changes, that flow according to the text.
This animation was produced by Fábio Barata within the scope of the Audiovisual Production course, part of the Bachelor in Design and Multimedia at the University of Coimbra (Coimbra, Portugal), and under the guidance of Professor Nuno Coelho.
